Rocktop Academy’s athletics program currently offers boys basketball — with plans to expand into additional sports as we continue to grow. From middle school through the postgraduate level, we serve serious student-athletes from across the U.S. and internationally, competing on both regional and national stages with one clear purpose: to develop players and create real opportunities for what comes next.

Our philosophy has never been about chasing championships. It’s about developing players. Every athlete who comes through Rocktop gets on the court — real playing time, real competition, and real coaching. We believe growth only happens through playing, and our rosters and schedules are built around that belief.

We build basketball résumés. We develop film. We put players in front of college coaches who are actively looking. And we do it for every player on our roster. As ESPN noted, the team’s main goal is to sharpen the skills of its players so they can earn a college scholarship or, in some cases, just a spot on a college roster. That standard applies across every team — from middle school players building a foundation to postgraduate athletes making their final push toward a collegiate opportunity. The Undefeated

Every Rocktop athlete also takes part in our Personal Development Program, because colleges aren’t just recruiting players — they’re recruiting people. We take both seriously.

Rocktop Academy’s High School team is built for serious student-athletes in the region who want to compete at a high level, develop their game, and put themselves in position to play at the next level.

Our players train under experienced coaches, compete in a rigorous schedule against quality competition, and are pushed to grow — not just as athletes, but as people. Like every Rocktop student, our high school players take part in our Personal Development Program, building the discipline, maturity, and life skills that carry beyond the court.

Whether the goal is earning a scholarship, developing a recruitment profile, or simply becoming the best player and person possible, Rocktop’s High School team provides the environment to make it happen.

What our players develop:

  • Skill & Basketball IQ — Consistent coaching and high-level competition sharpen fundamentals, decision-making, and overall game.
  • Athletic Development — Strength, speed, and conditioning built for the demands of college-level play.
  • Exposure & Recruitment — Compete in settings where college coaches are watching and relationships are built.
  • Academic Support — Stay on track with a flexible academic model designed around each student’s goals.
  • Character & Maturity — Our Personal Development Program prepares players for life on and off the court.

As college basketball continues to shift toward valuing older, more physically developed players, Rocktop Academy’s Prep team gives athletes the extra year they need to close the gap.

The Prep team is home to two types of players — those reclassifying for an additional year of high school development and postgraduate athletes competing in their gap year. Both are here for the same reason: to get better, get older, and get recruited. Together, they compete on a national stage against other prep programs and postgraduate teams, facing the kind of elite competition that accelerates growth and puts players in front of college coaches.

Like every Rocktop student, Prep athletes take part in our Personal Development Program — developing the maturity, discipline, and life skills that college programs look for beyond the box score. Athletes also have academic options to stay on track or get ahead, whether through coursework tied to their reclass year or college-level classes for postgrad players.

The Prep team exists for athletes who aren’t done growing — and who refuse to settle for the wrong opportunity.

Who thrives on the Prep team:

  • Reclass players gaining a fifth year of high school development before graduating — getting older, stronger, and more prepared without sacrificing NCAA eligibility.
  • Postgraduate athletes using their gap year to build film, expand their recruitment, and land at the right school instead of the closest one.
  • Players who need more time — more reps, more exposure, more growth — before they’re ready to compete at the college level.

What the Prep year delivers:

  • National Schedule — 55+ games against elite prep and postgraduate competition from across the country.
  • Top Exposure Events — Appearances at premier events where college coaches recruit at every level.
  • Recruitment Boost — More film, more visibility, and more relationships with college programs.
  • Skill Development — Individualized coaching and consistent training to elevate every part of a player’s game.
  • Academic Flexibility — Options to strengthen transcripts, complete coursework, or take college classes depending on each athlete’s path.
  • Personal Development — The tools to mature, lead, and succeed beyond basketball.
Rocktop Academy’s Postgraduate team is a structured gap year designed for high school graduates who want to develop their game, mature on and off the court, and increase their exposure to college programs.

With a national schedule of 55+ games and appearances at top exposure events across the country, athletes compete against elite competition while gaining valuable visibility with college coaches.

Like every Rocktop student, PG athletes take part in our Personal Development Program, which prepares them for life beyond basketball and sets them up for long-term success on and off the court. Players can also take college courses during the year to stay academically on track while they develop their game.

This year counts as one of five years of NCAA eligibility — and that’s a worthwhile investment. Athletes leave with real on-court experience, game film, and the relationships needed to pursue the right collegiate opportunity. That foundation matters. Too many players settle for a school that isn’t the right fit, only to find themselves stuck — no film to show, no network to lean on, and no real path to transfer. A PG year changes that, giving athletes the tools to kickstart their collegiate career on their own terms rather than waiting their turn or starting over from scratch.

Who benefits most from a PG year?

  • Athletes who need to get older and get recruited. College programs are increasingly targeting more physically developed players, and a PG year gives athletes the added maturity and strength to stand out.
  • Players who need more playing time and exposure. Those buried on depth charts in high school can use a PG year to get on the court, build film, and compete in high-level settings.
  • Those looking to avoid the JUCO track. Junior college can be a difficult path both academically and competitively. A PG year provides structure and support while building the resume and relationships needed to land at the right school.
  • Athletes in need of an academic or athletic reset. The year can be used to improve transcripts, raise test scores, or complete college coursework while training at a college-level intensity.

Rocktop Academy’s Middle School team is designed for serious student-athletes who want to maximize their growth before entering high school — both academically and on the court.

At a critical stage in development, we provide the structure, coaching, and guidance needed to build a strong foundation, gain confidence, and arrive in 9th grade more prepared and more competitive than their peers.

Athletes train consistently, compete regularly, and develop under experienced coaches — all while continuing to make academic progress. The goal is simple: enter high school ahead of the curve.

What we develop:

  • Athletic Development — Improve strength, coordination, and overall athleticism ahead of high school competition.
  • Skill Development — Refine fundamentals, decision-making, and basketball IQ through consistent training and gameplay.
  • Academic Structure — Stay on track or get ahead with a flexible academic model built around each student’s goals.
  • Confidence & Maturity — Build discipline, focus, and leadership in a structured, high-expectation environment.
  • High School Readiness — Enter 9th grade ready to compete, contribute, and stand out from day one.

The Reclass Option — A Strategic Advantage

For families thinking long-term, Rocktop Academy offers the option to reclassify during the 8th grade year — and the benefits go well beyond basketball.

Because the reclass year happens before high school, it does not trigger the NCAA’s eligibility clock or count against a student’s four years of high school athletic participation. The athlete simply enters 9th grade a year later, with a new graduation year — and a significant developmental edge.

The NCAA is currently proposing that athletes receive five years of eligibility from the time they turn 19 or the time they graduate high school, whichever comes first. That means arriving at college older, stronger, and more physically mature isn’t just a developmental advantage — it’s a strategic one. An athlete who graduates high school at 19 enters college with their full eligibility intact and the physical tools to compete immediately. Sports Illustrated

Reclassing in 8th grade allows student-athletes to:

  • Physically mature before high school competition begins
  • Build a stronger skill foundation over an additional year of focused development
  • Enter the recruiting process as an older, more developed prospect
  • Arrive at college with greater size, strength, and readiness to contribute
  • Maximize their eligibility window under current and proposed NCAA rules

Not ready to reclass? That’s okay too.

Joining our Middle School team is valuable with or without reclassification. Many families use it simply to give their athlete a focused, high-level development year before high school — no class change required. Whatever path makes sense for your family, Rocktop provides the structure and support to make the most of it.

Rocktop Academy offers Spring & Summer Basketball as an additional service for athletes who want to stay competitive during the school year and into the summer. It’s optional, available à la carte, and designed for players who aren’t ready to put the ball down when the season ends.

Current Rocktop athletes can continue their development here seamlessly. Outside players are welcome as well — with participation in Rocktop’s Personal Development Program as part of the commitment. Because developing the person is part of developing the player, and that standard doesn’t change regardless of where you come from.

All 16U players compete on 17U teams. That’s an intentional decision. College coaches evaluate at the 17U level, and we want every player seen in the right setting, against the right competition, at the right time.

The focus is local and regional tournaments — strong competition without the burden of cross-country travel — while still providing the exposure opportunities that move recruiting forward. Every practice is structured around skill-building, basketball IQ, and decision-making. Not just games. Not just reps. Real development with a real purpose.

Rocktop Academy’s Summer Camp is coming in Summer 2027 — a weekly day camp for boys and girls in grades 3 through 6 built around one thing: falling in love with the game the right way.

Young players learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, structured, high-energy environment led by experienced Rocktop coaches. Dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, defense — the building blocks that separate good players from great ones, introduced early and taught the right way.

More than just drills, camp is where confidence is built, friendships are made, and a real passion for the game takes root. Whether your child is brand new to basketball or already showing promise, Rocktop’s Summer Camp gives every player the foundation to grow — and the experience to keep them coming back.

Rocktop Academy’s training sessions are open to players in grades 7 through 12 and postgraduate athletes looking to elevate their game in a serious, high-level environment. Sessions are regularly mixed with Rocktop alumni and college-level players — because we believe the best way to grow is to compete and train alongside people who are ahead of you.

Rocktop is a family, and our doors are always open to players who are serious about advancing their basketball careers. Once you’re part of this program, you’re part of this program for life.

Our approach is simple and intentional: repetition builds habits, and habits build players. Every session is grounded in fundamentals — the details that most players overlook and the best players never stop working on. From shooting and ball handling to game situations and decision-making, we put players in the reps that translate to real results on the court.
